About the author
Pet owner, researcher, and founder of Pawsidor
Background
I've owned dogs and cats most of my life. And like most pet owners, I spent years Googling every behaviour, symptom, and quirk — only to find the same vague, unsourced answers recycled across hundreds of sites.
Pawsidor exists because I got tired of that. Every article here starts with the same question real pet owners ask, then traces the answer back to the actual science — peer-reviewed journals, university research, and the books written by the animal cognition scientists who spent their careers on these questions.
I'm not a vet. But I read like one. Every claim on this site has a source, and every source is real.
Editorial standard
Every article starts with the exact question pet owners search. Not a keyword — the real question with the real anxiety behind it.
Every factual claim traces to published research — journals, university studies, or books by credentialed animal scientists. No Wikipedia, no blogs.
Short answer for skimmers. Full science for the curious. Health flags for when it matters. Practical takeaway for what to actually do.
Every article carries the date it was last reviewed. When science updates, articles update.
